About Us
The Black Contemplative Society is a diverse community of spiritual seekers that aims to elevate and engage the voices of Black contemplatives within the Christian tradition for the good of the world. We offer resources and learning opportunities (e.g., book clubs, annual seminars) focused on contemplative spirituality for anyone interested in exploring the embodied wisdom of various contemplatives of African descent, with a particular focus on the Black community in the United States. Our hope is that learning from the diverse perspectives of Black contemplatives and others can enrich our journey toward deeper spiritual formation in Jesus Christ and the flourishing of all God’s creation. All are welcome!
